Go Hogan High School Class of 1985 Tania Ponder texted our GroupMe group chat this morning: "What is the status for the 40th class reunion?" Again, I'm no longer part of the 40th Class Reunion Committee actively 'planning' the event. I believe the committee is going forward with the event I did plan. A few months ago, Gloria texted me "What's the group consensus?" on how to text each (keep in touch) because she had problems with GroupMe. Here's my response that I shared with Ron Stainer a couple weeks ago: After our 20th class reunion in Walnut Creek and I decided to take it upon myself to do the 25th class reunion, I created our Yahoo Group (which no longer exists). After I learned about Facebook and joined in 2007, I created our Facebook Group . I created the first version of Hogan85 blog in 2009, but I lost access to my account which was work-related. Hogan 1985 Spartans @ Class of 1984's 40th Reunion

Maurice Harper, Ron Stainer, Cherrie Van Hook & J.F. Perseveranda at HHS 1984's 40th Reunion Flashback: Lucca Bar & Grill. Benicia, CA. July 20, 2024. Maurice, Ron and I were in touch with Class of 1984's organizer, Erinn (Nabong) VanderMeer so we were all invited. Cherrie happened to be in town and I asked her to drop by. Class of 1984's reunion at Lucca was a blast. They had the tables by the sidewalk reserved. These were the farthest away from the stage so it was easier to talk. Erinn had appetizers for the class reunion and kept it a free event so they had a great turnout. The only drawback was that it was an outdoor venue. Due to zoning laws, the music had to end at 9 PM I believe. Class of 1985 wants music, dancing and to party past 9 PM right?! Maurice, Ron, Cherrie & J.F. Go '85 Spartans! Zio Fraedo's in Vallejo

Zio Fraedos was my #1 choice for the 30th Reunion H ogan '83, '84 and '86 have had their reunions there. I heard a couple of Spartans know the owners, but I'm not sure if anyone in our class does.  I've been to a couple parties there and it's a great intimate setting.  And it's in Vallejo! I contacted Zio Fraedo's in Vallejo in September (and totally forgot to follow up).  Here's the email response: Thank you for your inquiry. I have attached all of our banquet menus for you to review. All menus include use of a private room for up to 3 hours at no charge. Additional hours would be at a rate of $200 per hour. If you have a band or Dj we do require a dance floor be set up in the room. The cost for the dance floor is $250. To book our venue we would need the attached banquet form filled out and returned with a $300 deposit. Please let me know if you need anything else. DoubleTree by Hilton in American Canyon

DoubleTree by Hilton I originally had a meeting setup with Denise at DoubleTree on October 28, but due to the power outages as a result of the Kincaid Fire , the meeting was rescheduled to Tuesday November 5.  Glenn accompanied me on the visit.  You can view photos at their website  napavalleyamericancanyon.doubletree.com . Since most of our class reunions have been in October, I chose the first Saturday of October ( Oct. 3, 2020 ) as our initial reunion date.  Our 25th Reunion in Hiddenbrooke similarly was on October 2, 2010.  Of course, that date will move depending on which venue we ultimately choose. Per Denise's last email: Have fun with the spreadsheet, it is a really a helpful tool in determining realistic budgets for events. The ballroom is on hold for you, and I can hold it until the month’s end without obligation on your part. If you and your committee want to see an agreement prior to that time, simply let me know. Hogan '85: Don't You Forget About Me

Hi Spartans! This blog is to assist in finding and notifying Hogan High Class of 1985 alumni about our 25th High School Reunion. I had called Hogan months ago and the office told me that they can't release any information to me - names, addresses, you name it. So we're on our own. I've created the Facebook group. As of today, we've got 86 members there. I also created a Yahoo group. There are 24 members there now. Today, I just created an event at SFGate.com. We're also online at Wordpress. If I remember correctly, we had a graduating class of 352. Hopefully, our old classmates with whom we have no contact at the moment are web savvy and can find us through one of these sites. If you're not yet a member of our Facebook or Yahoo group, then this blog has served its purpose. Please join us there asap! The early discussions online pointed to August 2010 as the target.
