Some bonds are forged in homerooms and hallways — and forty years later, they still hold. The Blue & White doesn't fade. It deepens. It shows up at Rellik Tavern on a Saturday night in Benicia , wraps an arm around your shoulder, and reminds you exactly who you are: a Hogan Spartan . Forever. DoubleTree by Hilton in American Canyon

DoubleTree by Hilton

JF & Glenn visit DoubleTree by Hilton in American Canyon, CA.

I originally had a meeting setup with Denise at DoubleTree on October 28, but due to the power outages as a result of the Kincaid Fire, the meeting was rescheduled to Tuesday November 5.  Glenn accompanied me on the visit.  You can view photos at their website napavalleyamericancanyon.doubletree.com.

Since most of our class reunions have been in October, I chose the first Saturday of October (Oct. 3, 2020) as our initial reunion date.  Our 25th Reunion in Hiddenbrooke similarly was on October 2, 2010.  Of course, that date will move depending on which venue we ultimately choose.

Per Denise's last email:
Have fun with the spreadsheet, it is a really a helpful tool in determining realistic budgets for events. The ballroom is on hold for you, and I can hold it until the month’s end without obligation on your part. If you and your committee want to see an agreement prior to that time, simply let me know.
So the key question is: How much do we want to spend per person?  I'll upload the catering menu soon.  Among our options are: lunch buffet, dinner buffet, hors d'oeuvres.

We're just starting to visit possible venues, but they all will have the same requirement -- a deposit to secure the venue.  Denise said we would need to have the initial deposit by January 1, 2020.

I reached out to the 25th Reunion Committee members to start with the planning.  But please reach out to us if you'd like to be involved, from the planning to the setup on the day of the reunion.

Most of us joined Facebook in 2007-2008, and that helped us a lot leading up to the 25th reunion in 2010.  Several of our classmates have left Facebook and joined Instagram (to 'stalk' their kids, I mean communicate with their kids).  Some have never joined social media, and that's why I got this site up.  Lowest common denominator.

Tomorrow Tuesday November 12, Gloria, Ron and I plan to visit GV Cellars in Fairfield.  We'll be there around 3 PM if anyone else is free to join.

Btw, I contacted Bella Siena in Benicia in April on IG (they got back to me late July).  It's out of our range.
To rent out the whole restaurant, we charge a food and beverage minimum of 15k on weekend evenings and 6k for weekend lunches.  All food and beverages are included until the minimum is met.  Tax/tip not included.
