Hello 1985 Spartans!

We are the Hogan Spartans — Class of 1985, proudly rooted in Vallejo, California. This site exists to reconnect classmates, preserve our shared history, and celebrate the legacy of our years at Hogan Senior High School during the early 1980s.

I'm J.F. Perseveranda, a proud member of the Class of 1985 and founder/editor of this site. Like many of you, my journey through Hogan helped shape who I am today—and this platform is my way of keeping our Spartan story alive.

While social media platforms come and go, this website serves as a permanent home for our memories—accessible to all classmates, including those who prefer to stay off platforms like Facebook.

I also manage the  Hogan High School Class of 1985 Facebook page,  the  Class of 1985 Facebook group,  and our presence on  X (Twitter) and  YouTube.  Together, these platforms help us stay connected—but this site is our central archive.

Our Mission

To reconnect Hogan Class of 1985 alumni, share memories, highlight classmates, and document our collective history—from the classrooms and courts of the 1980s to where life has taken us today.

Throwback to Hogan '85's 10th Class Reunion 1995 October. Walnut Creek, CA. Back when our very own E40's "Sprinkle Me" hit #5 on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs. Earl Stevens (E40) joined us at that tenth reunion. Tony, Ron and I hung out in his suite... watching his video while it played on the TV. Good times! Tracy Waterman: I received your $30 fee. I have transferred it over to Ron Stainer. I will treat any future fees sent to me as donations to my travel fund. 😉 I'm hoping to be out of the country during our reunion later this year. What's The Status Hogan Class of 1985?!

Go Hogan High School Class of 1985 Tania Ponder texted our GroupMe group chat this morning: "What is the status for the 40th class reunion?" Again, I'm no longer part of the 40th Class Reunion Committee actively 'planning' the event. I believe the committee is going forward with the event I did plan. A few months ago, Gloria texted me "What's the group consensus?" on how to text each (keep in touch) because she had problems with GroupMe. Here's my response that I shared with Ron Stainer a couple weeks ago: After our 20th class reunion in Walnut Creek and I decided to take it upon myself to do the 25th class reunion, I created our Yahoo Group (which no longer exists). After I learned about Facebook and joined in 2007, I created our Facebook Group . I created the first version of Hogan85 blog in 2009, but I lost access to my account which was work-related.
