Go Hogan High School Class of 1985
Tania Ponder texted our GroupMe group chat this morning: "What is the status for the 40th class reunion?"
Again, I'm no longer part of the 40th Class Reunion Committee actively 'planning' the event. I believe the committee is going forward with the event I did plan.
A few months ago, Gloria texted me "What's the group consensus?" on how to text each (keep in touch) because she had problems with GroupMe. Here's my response that I shared with Ron Stainer a couple weeks ago:
After our 20th class reunion in Walnut Creek and I decided to take it upon myself to do the 25th class reunion, I created our Yahoo Group (which no longer exists). After I learned about Facebook and joined in 2007, I created our Facebook Group. I created the first version of Hogan85 blog in 2009, but I lost access to my account which was work-related.
I bought & managed the domain HoganSpartans.com, created/managed the Hogan High School Facebook Page, created @hoganspartans1985 Instagram account, created Blogger.com blogs to correspond with each Facebook Page (of which this one is), created @Hogan1985 Twitter account, etc.
Bottom line, I didn't use just one to notify the majority of our classmates. I hit 'em all, even texting individual classmates on a case-by-case basis.
There are 140+ members in our Facebook Group. There were 352 of us who graduated in June 19, 1985 from Hogan High School. If memory serves me right, there were 600+ of us in tenth grade in Hogan. So the majority of our classmates are not connected to the our "core group" in social media. That's why I created the website in the first place -- so our classmates can find us and connect to us.
How do you update this Hogan1985.blogspot.com/?
To join this blog/site, all you need is a Google account. Currently, the following have author rights to this site. They likely joined in 2019 when I created this current site, but never posted:
- Jill Horan (Reunion committee)
- Kay Groves (Reunion committee)
- Doreen Gleaves
- Tex Cuabo
- Renora Nelson
- Christine Heath
- Glenn Pingol
- Tanya Williams
- John Jaggard
- Tammy Wong
- Tracey Donaldson
- Ron Stainer (Reunion committee)
One can post/update this site via one of the following:
- Login to blogger.com with your Google account, and create a new post on your computer.
- Post via the Blogger application on your Android phone.
- Email from your iPhone (any phone) or any computer/laptop. You just need to enable "POST USING EMAIL" when you're logged into blogger.com.
Pretty simple right?
Ron Stainer recently joined this blog. I see he created a draft (he was going to post an update), but it only has my template, which I think confused him.
I've cleared the new post template so as not to confuse anyone, except for the post title "Go Hogan High School Class of 1985" ... for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and our non-connected classmates can more easily find us.
Join This Hogan Class of 1985 site!
I'd like all of you to join this site and share photos/updates as you did Facebook. The only thing is there is a limitation of 100 users. We did not get 100 classmates at the 25th Reunion so that shouldn't be a problem. I also have that covered: I have a "Hogan 1985" Google account for the 101st account and on; folks can post anonymously even, but that's last resort.
Updates Here Automatically Post on the Hogan Senior High School - Class of 1985 Facebook Page
I setup a process so that new posts here auto post to our Class of 1985 Facebook Page.
To the Reunion Commitee, please update us here at the minimum. Then text the link to the GroupMe group chat (and individual texts as needed). Thanks all!
Keep '85 alive!

P.S. When posting on Facebook, you can tag my "alternate" Facebook account Hogan Eight-Five Spartans.
